The "Red Church" in Brno

The heating principle

High-temperature and low-temperature ECOSUN panels operate on the principle of infrared radiant heating. The heat, in the form of infrared radiation, doesn’t heat the air but passes through it freely and heats only the surface of the objects which it hits. This principle is usually used in large-volume buildings, such as halls, workshops, warehouses, production plants etc.

A typical example of the use of radiant heating is the heating of church benches. It is lengthy and energetically very demanding to heat a church using a standard convection system (with warm air) and if you take into consideration the ratio of the surface on which the benches are located to the volume of the whole church, it is also highly uneconomical.

However, low-temperature ECOSUN K panels, installed directly in the benches, warm up church visitors directly. The thermal energy is thus used with the maximum efficiency possible and the operation of this system can be said to be the most effective and most economical for the given purpose at present.

Reference building

One of the buildings which use the ECOSUN K radiant panels for the heating of benches is the Jan Amos Komenský (Comenius) Evangelical Church of the Czech Brethren in Jo¹tova Street, Brno, also known as the "Red Church".

A total of 48 ECOSUN 330K panels have been installed in 24 benches in the church. The panels are connected in such a way that individual rows of benches can be switched on gradually.

Also the pulpit is a matter of interest; here, floor heating in the form of an electric heating mat has been installed for greater comfort.
