The AL MAT aluminium heating mat is a reliable solution for direct underfloor heating, designed specifically for dry installation beneath laminate and floating timber floors. With a thickness of just 1.7 mm, it is ideal for renovation projects, as it requires virtually no increase in the existing floor height.

The mat is based on a twin-core heating element sandwiched between two layers of aluminium foil. This ensures heat is distributed across the entire surface of the mat, allowing it to be used in dry floor constructions. The aluminium foil also acts as a surface earthing, meaning that AL MAT mats are also suitable for so-called damp areas, such as bathrooms, where ECOFILM F heating films cannot be installed. The mat’s design ensures even heating of the floor and it is laid completely dry, without the need for flexible adhesives or sealants. AL MAT heating mats can also be installed beneath KNAUF and FERMACELL plasterboard or gypsum fibreboard flooring, which are used in timber-framed buildings.

Installations are made significantly easier by the two-wire design. The mat has just one 3-metre-long halogen-free connection cable (cold end). This completely eliminates the need to run the other end of the mat back to the thermostat during installation, which saves time and ensures a technically clean connection.

For an optimal design based on the building’s heat loss, the mat is available in the following versions:

  • AL MAT 80 W/m²: designed for floor heating in modern low-energy houses and very well-insulated buildings.
  • AL MAT 140 W/m²: a suitable option for bathrooms and areas where higher output is required due to heat loss or to speed up the floor’s temperature rise

This product is an electric local heater, falling under the scope of Regulation (EU) 2024/1103. The EcoDesign graphic symbol is an active link to mandatory information and conditions for its installation.
