The MDT 400 W/m² heating mat is a high-performance solution designed to provide reliable frost protection for outdoor areas such as helipads, industrial sites and steep access ramps.
At the heart of this mat is a robust two-core MADPSP cable with a linear power consumption of 40 W/m and a diameter of 6.3–9 mm. Thanks to its strong protective braiding, salt-resistance cores and double UV-stabilised insulation, this cable offers high mechanical resistance. It also features high temperature resistance (short-term temperature resistance reaches up to 240 °C), which is why hot asphalt can be laid directly onto MDT mats.
As with other mats for outdoor applications, the cable loops are secured with just three glass-fibre tapes to ensure the mat does not compromise the joints between individual layers of the pavement or road surface. Installation is made significantly easier by the mat’s width of 0.75 m; for protecting pavements or heating ‘lanes’ on access roads, laying just a single strip of mat at this width is usually sufficient. The wiring itself is simplified by the two-core design of the heating cable; the mat is terminated with a single 5-metre-long halogen-free cold end, so there is no need to return with the entire mat to the connection point during installation.

- MDT 400 W/m² (230 V): circuits for standard applications covering areas from 0.9 m² (340 W) to 18.4 m² (7,350 W).
- MDT 400 W/m² (400 V): a solution optimised for large-scale industrial facilities with areas ranging from 1.5 m² (600 W) to 22.5 m² (9,000 W).
