Pipes can be protected using resistance heating cables, which are manufactured in lengths of up to 200 metres. As these cables do not include a thermostat as part of the circuit, suitable regulation is required, such as an industrial thermostat with a separate sensor. For longer lengths, the need to combine them with an external thermostat and connect them to a junction box means that these cables are more suitable for industrial applications carried out by a specialist firm. Heating cables can be wound around the pipework or run parallel to it. As it is difficult to estimate the ‘pitch’ when wrapping the cable, we recommend dividing the heating cable into equal sections – secure the start and end of the cable, then secure the resulting slack in the middle to the pipe. We then continue in this way to create several evenly spaced sags, which we wrap around the pipework in the opposite direction.
This product is a local electric heater falling within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2024/1103. The EcoDesign graphic symbol is an active link to the mandatory information and conditions for its installation.
