Pipe freeze protection systems reliably prevent water and other liquids from freezing in domestic and industrial pipework by effectively compensating for heat loss, which insulation alone cannot completely prevent. Heating cables do not, therefore, replace thermal insulation on pipes; they are installed beneath this insulation. This maintenance-free system prevents costly breakdowns and is also used for process heating to maintain the required temperature or viscosity of substances.
