The S-MAT (S-snow) mat can be used anywhere where, during the winter months, protection is required for walkways – pavements – against snow and ice to ensure the safe movement of users. The mat’s surface consists of 3 mm thick S2-type patterned rubber with a permitted load rating of class 33–34. The mat can be laid on the protected area throughout the winter season, or it can be laid as and when required. The mat can withstand commercial traffic from trolleys with rubber wheels. It is fitted with a 5-metre connection cable, terminated with a plug featuring an integrated residual current device (the mat’s protection rating is IP 65, the plug’s is IP 54); therefore, no specialist wiring is required for commissioning.
