EXBOARD

An extruded polystyrene (XPS) underlay with high strength and compressive resistance for underfloor heating systems using ECOFILM heating films. It allows connectors and cables for the Heating Films systems to be concealed, levels out minor unevenness in the subfloor, reduces heat loss and dampens impact noise.

EXBOARD (EXtruded BOARD) is an extruded polystyrene (XPS) underlay for ECOFILM heating films in underfloor heating applications beneath floating floors. The insulation evens out minor unevenness in the subfloor, dampens impact noise and prevents heat transfer from the heating film into the floor structure. The 6 mm thickness of the underlay also provides the necessary space for concealing the connectors and cables for the heating films. Its high compressive strength is a key feature, particularly required for thin-layer vinyl floating floors. For soft, fully-adhered floor coverings (carpets, linoleum, PVC), it is essential to supplement the floor structure with HEAT-PAK cover boards.

The installation of the EXBOARD levelling underlay and floorboards is normally carried out simultaneously; walking on the exposed underlay is prohibited. The installation of ECOFILM heating films prevents simultaneous installation; therefore, always use protective distribution boards (e.g. polystyrene boards at least 3 cm thick).
