In accordance with ČSN EN 60335-2-96, the ECOFILM heating film, which functions as underfloor or ceiling heating, must be covered with a second layer of insulation. The insulation standard specifies a minimum electrical strength of 3,000 V (resistance to breakdown under an electrical voltage of 3 kV) to ensure that the entire structural layer meets the requirements for the protection of Class II electrical appliances. The PE film offered, with a thickness of 0.2 mm, has the required electrical strength; its installation fulfils the relevant standard’s requirement for the electrical safety of the heating system.
Installation should be carried out at temperatures between 10–30 °C and relative humidity between 45–60 per cent. It is recommended that storage conditions be adjusted accordingly. If this is not possible, the film must be left to acclimatise for 24–48 hours (the greater the temperature difference, the longer the acclimatisation period) under the conditions in which the installation will take place. The film should not be stored in the immediate vicinity of radiators, heaters or other heat sources, and must be protected from intense light and UV rays.
