Control is via a rotary control and a touch sensor (button) integrated into the OLED display. Upon first start-up, the thermostat checks whether a floor sensor is connected and automatically selects either Room mode or Floor mode. ‘Room+Floor’ mode can only be activated via the ecoControl mobile app.
The thermostat can be left permanently in Comfort (COM) or Economy (ECO) mode, with the temperature adjusted manually using the rotary control. Alternatively, you can switch between COM and ECO temperatures via a signal sent along the control wire using an external timer.
Basic thermostat settings, including Comfort (COM) and Economy (ECO) temperatures, can only be adjusted using the rotary control and the sensor button. The thermostat can also be switched off completely using the rotary control, or the “BOOST 1 hour” mode can be activated – the thermostat maintains the set temperature for one hour; once the time has elapsed, it returns to the mode it was in before the BOOST mode was activated.
The ecoControl mobile app (Android, iOS)
In addition to activating “Room + Floor” mode, you can use the ecoControl app to create and save a weekly programme to the thermostat and switch it to “AUTO” mode. The thermostat then automatically switches between COM and ECO temperatures according to the programme. Temperature changes can be programmed for every full hour, and a different time programme can be created for each day of the week. The mobile app also allows for detailed thermostat settings: COM and ECO temperature values, floor temperature limits, restrictions on the temperature range adjustable via the rotary control, complete locking of the thermostat controls, etc.
The ecoControl app does not require a user account; Bluetooth technology allows connection only to devices in the immediate vicinity (range approx. 3 m). Upon launch, the app displays all T-Sense thermostats within range; thermostats can be named for easier identification. A floor sensor is included in the pack.
