Club Med La Rosière: consistent thermal comfort in the heart of the Savoy Alps

Installation of an electric underfloor heating system using ECOFLOOR ADPSV cables with an output of 33 W/m at a modern mountain resort.

The modern mountain resort Club Med La Rosière is one of the most prestigious leisure resort development projects in the French Alps. It is situated at an altitude of almost 2,000 metres, in a region characterised by long winters and extremely low night-time temperatures. It is precisely these conditions that place exceptional demands on the technical heating solution and the building’s overall thermal comfort.

In 2020, the French company ACSO, a subsidiary of the FENIX Group, supplied a thermal storage heating system using ECOFLOOR ADPSV cables with an output of 33 W/m. This system is installed directly in the building’s foundations, where it creates a stable thermal base for the entire hotel.

The principle behind the solution lies in the accumulation of heat within the building’s structure, which is then gradually released into the interior. The heat obtained in this way is then efficiently distributed via a hot-air ventilation system. The result is uniform temperature control across the hotel’s extensive premises and a significant reduction in the temperature fluctuations typical of high-altitude environments.

The use of heating cables with heat storage in building structures is a tried-and-tested standard in French ski resorts. It enables the optimisation of energy flows, reduces the load on the main heat sources and, at the same time, ensures a high level of comfort for guests even under extreme climatic conditions.

The installation at the Club Med La Rosière resort confirms that FENIX Group’s solutions represent a reliable and long-term effective choice even for large and technically demanding projects in mountainous environments.
