The Roland Garros Stadium complex, the venue for the famous French Open tennis tournament, has undergone extensive modernisation in recent years. This included the refurbishment of the Philippe Chatrier Centre Court, where there was a need to provide efficient and comfortable heating for the adjacent indoor areas. The French company ACSO, a subsidiary of the FENIX Group, was commissioned to carry out the work; it designed and supplied a radiant ceiling heating system using ECOFILM heating films.
A solution for a technically challenging space
The building’s specific configuration and the limited scope for installing conventional heating systems led to the choice of radiant ceiling heating. This allows for full integration into the ceiling structure without interfering with the building’s architecture, whilst ensuring even heat distribution throughout the space.
A modular system based on 5 cm-thick mineral wool modules was selected:
- MH (Module Heating) heating modules with integrated ECOFILM foil
- non-heating MB (Module Blank) modules for flexible system expansion
This combination allows the heat output and distribution to be precisely tailored to the specific requirements of the building.
