The building’s usable floor area is approximately 2,000 m². The ground floor is used as facilities for the tennis club (changing rooms, showers), a reception area, a kitchen with a restaurant and an archive; the first floor mainly comprises office space; and the attic contains several residential units. The entire building is heated by electric heating, whilst domestic hot water is provided by local electric boilers. Total annual electricity consumption is approximately 200 MWh, with a significant proportion of this consumption occurring during the winter months.
A photovoltaic power plant with a total capacity of 32.2 kWp has been installed on the south-east-facing roof of the building since summer 2023.
In the autumn of 2023, a universal MES battery storage system in a containerised design, with a capacity of 576 kWh and a power output of 150 kW, was added to the facility. The main purpose of this storage system is to manage surplus energy from the PV plant and actively take advantage of spot electricity prices. Given the relatively high energy consumption, energy storage is typically implemented using cheaper energy from the distribution grid during the night or at midday, which is then used to offset consumption during the morning and evening peak periods. When prices are favourable, energy is also sold back to the grid (limited by the plant’s reserved capacity of approximately 35 kW).

From April 2025, in addition to standard algorithm-based control, a commercial flexibility provision mode will also be tested at the supply point, whereby the electricity supplier has the option to activate consumption and supply from Battery storage, thereby optimising deviations in its portfolio, or to take advantage of trading opportunities on the energy market (e.g. the intraday market). A portion of the revenue is then provided by the supplier as a reward for the flexibility provided; for 2025, this amounted to CZK 18,962 excluding VAT.
