The cut in the heating cable was repaired with a breakable terminal block and insulated with black electrical insulating PVC tape. As the several layers of adhesive tape show, the person in question certainly didn´t want to underestimate the repair….

Unprofessional repairs

The unprofessionally performed repair of heating cables results, unnecessarily, in significantly higher damage.

This is one case when an investor asked for our opinion before the floor was covered. The heating cables are insufficiently attached, the clips are too far apart, and the cable is “floating” on the floor. If the screed had been poured, the cables may have come into contact with one another or even crossed, which would have led to the overheating and interruption of the cable. Incorrect installation

The most common mistakes when laying heating cables and mats

Virtually the whole connector has been pulled into the perimeter wall, where there is no reliable heat dissipation. The second mistake is the bending of the heating cable immediately after the connector – heating and the different expansion of materials in the bend create cyclic mechanical stress on the joint, which can lead to its interruption
