The family home as an active player in the energy sector

An article in Solární magazín shows that modern family homes are no longer merely passive consumers of electricity. Using two specific projects in Jeseník and Vejvanov as examples, it demonstrates the integration of photovoltaic power plants with large-capacity Battery storage and a smart control system that utilises predictions of generation, consumption and current spot electricity prices. The house thus actively decides when to consume, store or sell energy back to the grid.

Thanks to this approach, the energy generated on-site is utilised to the full, leading to significant financial savings. In practice, the house can achieve a very low average electricity price and, at certain times, even generate a financial surplus. Energy thus becomes not only a means for the household’s own consumption, but also a tradable commodity that increases the household’s economic and energy self-sufficiency.

Read the full article on the website www.solarnimagazin.cz and find out how a modern family home can function as an active element in the energy sector.
